A Whole Lot Of New Silent Hill: Homecoming Screens
Kotaku, have managed to once again get their hands on some dirty, foggy-looking screenshots of Silent Hill: Homecoming. There's is some pictures of dead bodies, a really nice looking abandoned playground, and at least one familiar face. You can go and check all those pictues right here, but be warned, some of those shots might be classified as spoilers to people. So be careful.
Wow, as soon as I touched upon the subject about Silent Hill-news being dried up, something new comes along. GamesRadar has come across some new gameplay videos from the upcoming title. While they don't show too much with their length of one and a half minute each, they are fairly interesting. One such thing to note is that it seems as Alex's charactermodel has been slightly changed.
Silent Hill V is no longer named "Silent Hill V". Today, Kotaku reported the new, official name for the up-coming title. Silent Hill: Homecoming. Not only was the new title revealed, but also a relase date as vague as, September. This is good news after a long dry time without any kind of reports on the progress of this game. So prepare your 360's and PS3's in September, because Alex Shepard is coming home, and you are following him.
Hit the forums with your thoughts on all of this, aswell as check out the press-release over here at Kotaku.
Shiny, best known for games such as Earthworm Jim, Matrix: Path of Neo and MDK, are merging with our new Silent Hill V-developers, The Collective. Togheter they will create the new developing-entity known as Double Helix for "large-scale, multi-platform licensed games". How this will affect Silent Hill V (if at all) is unknown, but I doubt anything but good will come out of this.
The gaming magazine 360UK got their hands on a 60% complete version of Silent Hill V a little while ago, and recently published their preview of it. The scans of said preview have surfaced, and it goes a little bit more in-depth about the new combat, aswell as their own personal views on how Silent Hill V looks at the moment. I'll give you a hint about what they think though, it starts with L and ends with OVE. Check the scans, and discuss them in our Silent Hill V forums.
I am fully aware that we are slightly behind on these news, but it's time for everyone to know now. Silent Hill: Origins for the Playstation 2 has been released nationwide in the US, since the 5th of March. Unfortunatley no word has surfaced about the PAL and JPN release dates, but it should be very soon. So now, all you people who never played Origins due to the lack of a PSP, why are you still reading this? Run out, buy the game for your Playstation 2, and play it directly!
Three of them to be exact. The first of them takes place in the infamous bathroom sequence. No, not the one where the dead guy gets up and says 'Game Over', the bathroom from one of the very first previews we ever saw of Silent Hill V.
The second one is in some non-descript area with enough blood to make you somewhat worried for your own safety.
The third shows Alex facing off against one of those wacky fun-loving nurses we've all come to know and love (and some poster despise). Alex is either gonna bust out a kung-fu move or is trying to knock her down using the Force. I can't really tell.
You can view their non-sticky goodness here , here , and here
SHFs own SilentHiller has gotten wind of a new magazine preview and has been kind enough to share the scans with us. Head on over to the discussion thread and eagerly await the translations of the (hopefully) new details.
It should be noted that this article contains renders posted by the rumored discruntled employee who posted various drawings and renders. It is unknown if this confrims the 'employee' artwork is real

UPDATE
Apparently there is no new information. Somewhere in a dark corner a Mumbler is crying. I'm going to join him.
We all want Silent Hill V. Some want it to revive the series (raises hand), some just want it to have a thumping good time in the dark that doesn't require a few shots of alcohol and a good chunk of your self-respect. Hell, some want it NOW. And can you blame them? The survival horror market is thin to nill on good games recently. Well, that could change in 7 to 10 months.
Word from Konami via Gaming Today confirms that the development team is aiming for a fourth quarter of 2008 release. Although nothing is written in stone they have said they will release more detailed information towards the middle of march.
Famous video-game site Kotaku, has came across a new batch of images lately. They are consisting of some we've seen before, but also, some quite new ones. The one set in an office screams out with it's moody setting, and the infamous Vagina-door makes a return but this time with a twist. What else are special about these new and old screens? They are higher resolution then before, and reach up to 1280x1280 even. So head over to Kotaku and check them out now.
